If youre at a loss for how to entertain the family this weekend aside from gorging on chocolate then I have three words for you. Creme Egg Calzone. Okay so that technically is also gorging yourself on chocolate but it is chocolate wrapped in pizza dough so its sort of different? Only not really. On Tuesday this week I took Belle and my Mum to Prezzo in Bridgwater to try out some of the treats on their Easter menu. I grew up in Bridgwater and so theres a huge amount of nostalgia for me in sitting in the Bridgwater Prezzo looking out onto the town centre remembering when my friend Nicky used to have a Saturday job in Bewise and when Marks and Spencer dominated Fore Street. Bridgwater still mourns the loss of that M&S decades later. Anyway we were in Prezzo it was raining but we were cosy and ready to eat a LOT of carbs. Honestly we ate so many carbs. I would like to say it was work because of writing this and that was why we ordered both truffle fries and carbonara fries as sides but I think we both know that would just be an excuse. (Carbonara fries in case you are wondering are as good as they sound.) We were welcomed very warmly indeed and could not have been better looked after. Everything came quickly there were no mistakes it was all round a very solid 10/10. The food was delicious – particularly my pea and goats cheese ravioli. Im an absolute fiend for peas and will die on the cross of proclaiming them our most underrated vegetable. Starters main courses blah blah blah. We know what were all here for dont we?
