In a live broadcast President Dr. Irfaan Ali revealed that Guyana is actively engaging with the World Animal Health Organization and the United States to combat the spread of the Bird Flu virus which has significantly impacted the global poultry industry. The global poultry sector is facing severe challenges with a 40% decline in hatching egg production and a 33% drop in meat production. The United States the worlds largest egg producer has been particularly affected. While Guyana has made strides in ramping up meat production and has recently started hatching egg production the country estimates that it will take 3 to 4 years to achieve self-sufficiency. Lenox Shuman former member of a coalition of small parties recently expressed that Guyanese have lost trust in third parties and coalition politics. Shuman leader of the Liberty and Justice Party was part of a coalition that secured one seat in the National Assembly. Appearing on GlobeSpan he criticized recent coalitions stating that these alliances have led to distrust among partners and have ultimately harmed the country. Shuman believes that post-election coalitions given the challenges experienced with pre-election alliances pose too great a risk to national development. By Reycia Nedd Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony recently commissioned a new health post in Muritaro Region Ten. The health facility constructed at a cost of approximately $24 million is set to benefit over 246 residents in the community and surrounding areas. Dr. Gregory Harris Regional Health Officer for Region 10 shared that the journey to this new facility started in an old wooden structure and they are now proud of the progress made. Dr. Frank Anthony highlighted that the new health post underscores the governments commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the country. The facility is equipped with a laboratory an antenatal and outpatient department and a pharmacy. Some of the services to be provided include chronic disease management outpatient clinics and antenatal care.

Thirteen women in Falmouth are currently employed through the programme benefiting from part-time work that supplements their household incomes. Residents like Rohan Braithwaite Elizabeth Braithwaite and Lavern Joseph have expressed gratitude noting how the programme has greatly helped improve their livelihoods since its inception. The national pathway programme currently employs 1734 people in Region Ten. The government has committed to creating 50000 jobs over a five-year period as part of an effort to strategically enhance the lives of citizens across the country.
