A budget advocacy group in Kwara State Nigeria is calling for the allocation of funds for silos in the states budget to address the issue of annual post-harvest losses which amount to N94.5 billion. The group argues that investing in silos which are storage facilities for agricultural produce will help reduce the amount of food wasted due to inadequate storage and processing facilities. This will not only benefit farmers and the economy but also improve food security and reduce poverty. The group is urging the state government to prioritize this issue in the budget to ensure sustainable agricultural development and economic growth.
