Minister Bharrat highlighted the governments strategic approach to managing the nations oil resources. Despite Guyanas impressive daily oil output of over 640000 barrels he emphasized that the country is not relying solely on oil but is using its wealth to strengthen traditional sectors including mining agriculture tourism and forestry. Of the total sum $51.2 billion has been allocated for the second phase of the GTE project which is now moving into its final construction stages. According to Prime Minister Mark Phillips the main construction components including civil works and foundational structures are progressing with the remaining tasks focused on assembling critical infrastructure.
