On April 30 2025 Boko Haram militants launched a deadly attack on the town of Chibok in Borno State Nigeria. The attack targeted a group of mourners killing 21 people and injuring several others. The militants also set fire to several churches and houses in the area. This is not the first time Chibok has been targeted by Boko Haram as the town gained international attention in 2014 when the group kidnapped over 200 schoolgirls. The recent attack is a reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism in Nigeria and the devastating impact it continues to have on innocent civilians.
