The Lagos State government has signed a waste management concession agreement with a Ghanaian firm Zoomlion Ghana Limited in an effort to improve waste collection and disposal in the state. The agreement which is expected to last for 10 years will see the firm take over the management of waste in the state including the construction of waste transfer loading stations and the deployment of modern waste management equipment. This move is expected to address the issue of improper waste disposal and promote a cleaner and healthier environment for residents of Lagos. The agreement is a step towards achieving a more efficient waste management system in the state.
